Termite Treatment in Dania Beach Starts With Identifying the Species

Termite treatment in Dania Beach works best when it starts with one clear answer: which termite is in your home? Drywood termite colonies live entirely inside the wood they feed on. Subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, are a different group that calls for different services. That difference decides which treatment fits, how long any coverage lasts, and whether your family needs to leave the house.

On Demand Pest Control serves Dania Beach homeowners from our East Coast branch in Davie. Every standard termite inspection is free. Our inspector checks the accessible areas of your home, identifies the activity, and gives you written options for each method that fits.

We sell seven termite services. Together they cover drywood, Formosan and other subterranean termites. Your home only gets the ones that match what the inspection finds. Some homes need a single localized spot treatment. Others need a whole-house tent fumigation or a baiting system installed around the perimeter. The method follows the termite, and the written quote spells out each option before any work is scheduled.

If you are buying or selling a home, the lender or closing process may call for an official WDO real-estate report. That report is a separate paid service, and we quote it individually. It is a different document from the free standard inspection we perform to find activity and recommend treatment.

Signs of Termite Activity to Report to an Inspector

Termites often stay hidden until a colony has been active for some time. Mention these signs when you book an inspection:

  • Swarmers or discarded wings: often found near windows, doors and light fixtures.
  • Drywood pellets: small, dry droppings pushed out of wood and piling up below it.
  • Mud tubes: pencil-width tunnels that subterranean termites build along foundations and walls.
  • Hollow or damaged wood: trim, framing or furniture that sounds hollow or crumbles.

Write down where and when you saw each sign. That helps our inspector focus on the right areas.

When Termites Swarm in South Florida, by Species

Winged termites, called swarmers or alates, are often the first sign homeowners notice. University of Florida IFAS research shows that Florida termite species swarm on different calendars. One “termite season” does not fit them all:

  • Formosan termites: usually swarm from early April through late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. One flight can include tens of thousands of termites. When a structure is infested, these swarms can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis): make mating flights from April to June, though flights can happen any time of year. A colony produces swarmers only once it matures at roughly five years old, so swarmers mean the colony has been there a while.
  • Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes): Florida’s three species each have their own window. R. hageni flies from early December to early February, in the evening. R. flavipes flies from early January through April. R. virginicus flies from early February to late May. The last two usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons, often after rain.

For a Dania Beach homeowner, that means a cloud of winged insects around a porch light on a spring evening deserves a call. So do discarded wings on a windowsill in the middle of winter. These calendars describe regional biology. They do not count local infestations. UF/IFAS also notes that established native Reticulitermes colonies in Florida feed on wood year-round, so a quiet month does not mean those colonies are gone.

How the Termite Inspection and Treatment Process Works

Every job follows the same order: find the termite, name the species, then match it to a compatible service.

  1. Free inspection.

Our inspector checks the accessible areas of your home for signs such as swarmer wings, drywood pellets, mud tubes and damaged wood.

  2. Species identification.

The findings point to drywood termites, Formosan termites, other subterranean termites, or a combination.

  3. Written options and quote.

You get the methods that fit your home, what each one involves, and how its terms differ.

  4. Choosing a compatible method.

    Species decides the lane:

  • Drywood: spot treatment of specified areas, a drywood bond (attic treatment, spot injections or radius treatment), or whole-house tent fumigation.
  • Subterranean, including Formosan: a termite baiting system installed in the soil around the perimeter. Installation involves drilling and digging, which disturbs some sod and hardscape.
  • Formosan: liquid treatment (trenching along the foundation, drilling and injecting beneath abutting slabs, and spot or foam treatment of active areas) or Formosan tent fumigation. Baiting is another compatible option for Formosan termites.
  1. Preparation for your method.

Each method has its own prep. Fumigation requires you to vacate, typically for two nights and three days, and you re-enter only after the licensed fumigator tests clearance levels and posts a written clearance notice. Liquid treatment does not require vacating, but people and pets stay clear of the immediate work area while trenching, drilling and application are in progress, and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Your technician explains the steps for other methods.

  2. Treatment.

The chosen method is applied in accordance with the product label.

  3. After treatment.

During an active baiting term, we inspect the installed baiting system at least annually. Other termite warranties are reactive: report new activity promptly and service follows the terms of the contract you signed. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Dania Beach

Our published starting figure applies to one service only, a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Dania Beach starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other termite method is quoted individually after the inspection. That includes the three-year bond, spot treatment, drywood fumigation, baiting, Formosan liquid treatment and Formosan fumigation. These factors shape the final price:

  • Species: drywood, Formosan and other subterranean termites call for different services.
  • Method: spot treatment, bond, fumigation, baiting and liquid treatment are different services.
  • Home size: the size of the structure affects the scope of work.
  • Extent of activity: how much activity the inspection finds.
  • Access: how easily the treatment areas can be reached.
  • Term: services differ in term, and optional renewals, where a service offers them, are priced separately.

Every job begins with a free inspection and a written quote, so you see the options before you commit. WDO real-estate reports are quoted separately.

What On Demand Pest Control Customers Say

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

Why Dania Beach Homeowners Choose ODPC for Termite Work

Choosing termite service means choosing a contract as well as a treatment. We make both parts clear:

  • Options matched to the species: we offer seven termite services, and your home only gets the ones that fit what we find.
  • Written agreements: each service comes with a written agreement, including warranty terms where a warranty applies. Not every service is warranted, and Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.
  • Free standard inspection: our standard inspection to check your home for activity and recommend treatment is free. Treatment is quoted separately, and official WDO real-estate reports for closings are a paid service.
  • Prompt scheduling: we respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.
  • Nearby branch: our East Coast branch in Davie serves Dania Beach.

Termite Warranty Coverage Depends on the Method You Choose

No single warranty covers every termite service. The drywood termite bond runs for an initial term of one or three years. During that term, additional drywood treatments we deem necessary cost nothing extra, and you can renew year by year after the term ends. Drywood tent fumigation carries a one-year renewable warranty. Spot treatment covers only the specified areas for 60 days and cannot be renewed or transferred. Formosan liquid treatment has a one-year renewable warranty that provides further liquid treatment only, never fumigation. A baiting system includes a first year of station monitoring and servicing with installation, and renewal after that is optional. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty and includes no retreatment. Any later work would be quoted as a new, separate job.

None of these agreements pays for wood repair or termite damage. Most warranty service is reactive: you report new activity, and covered activity is handled under that contract. Under the drywood bond, drywood fumigation and Formosan liquid warranties, we inspect reported activity at no charge, and covered treatment under that agreement carries no additional charge. For spot treatment, reinspection happens only at your request and may be subject to a service fee. Conditions apply, including fixing moisture problems we identify and telling us in writing about structural changes. Before you sign, read the full warranty terms for the specific service you are choosing so you know what its coverage and renewal look like.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Dania Beach?

The price depends on the species, the method, your home's size, the extent of activity, access and the service term. Our published starting figure applies only to a one-year drywood bond on a smaller home. Every other method is quoted individually after a free inspection.

How soon can someone inspect my Dania Beach home?

We respond the same day you reach out. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Do I have to leave my home during termite treatment?

For tent fumigation, yes. The typical vacate period is two nights and three days, and it can run longer depending on weather or the size of the home. Re-entry happens only after the licensed fumigator tests clearance levels and posts a written clearance notice. Formosan liquid treatment does not require vacating, but people and pets stay clear of the work area while work is in progress and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Your technician explains the prep for any other method.

Is a termite inspection free if I'm buying or selling a home?

Our standard termite inspection is free for any homeowner. We check for activity and recommend treatment. An official WDO real-estate report for a closing is a different service. It is paid, and we quote it separately.

Does a termite warranty pay to repair damaged wood?

No. None of our termite agreements covers wood repair or termite damage. Covered warranties provide retreatment or system servicing under their specific terms, and Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.
