Termite Treatment in Davie Starts With Identifying the Species

If you are looking for termite treatment in Davie, start with this: no single method works on every termite. Florida homes can have drywood termites, which live entirely inside wood. They can also have subterranean termites, including Formosan termites. Each group needs a different approach. The right choice depends on what an inspection finds at your home.

On Demand Pest Control runs its East Coast office on SW 47th Avenue in Davie, so this town is home base for our team. Our termite treatment lineup has seven services: one-year and three-year drywood termite bonds, spot drywood treatment, whole-house drywood fumigation, Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid soil treatment, and a termite baiting system for subterranean species. You won’t get all seven. Your inspector recommends the ones that fit the termites and the structure you have.

Every Davie job starts the same way. You get a free inspection, a plain explanation of which termite we found, and a written quote for the service that fits before any work starts.

What Happens at Your Home During Termite Work

Each method looks different on site. Drywood bond and spot work mean technicians go into your attic and, in some cases, onto the roof. Installing bait stations involves drilling and digging in the soil around the house, which can disturb sod and hardscape. Liquid treatment leaves drill holes that are patched but stay visible. You’ll need to clear stored items and plants away from the foundation and mark any buried lines first. Fumigation involves tarps, sealing and roof access, plus a preparation checklist you complete before the date. Your written agreement explains what to expect for your method.

When Do Termites Swarm in Florida?

Termite swarms are winged reproductives leaving a mature colony to start new ones. University of Florida IFAS research shows that swarm timing in Florida depends on the species. That matters, because spotting winged termites at a certain time of year gives you a first clue about what you’re dealing with.

  • Formosan subterranean termites: swarms usually run from early April to late June, shortly after sunset, and peak in May. One flight can include tens of thousands of termites. If a structure is infested, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • Native subterranean termites: Florida has three native Reticulitermes species, and each has its own window. Reticulitermes hageni flies in the evening from early December to early February. Reticulitermes flavipes flies from early January through April. Reticulitermes virginicus flies from early February to late May. R. flavipes and R. virginicus usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons, often after rain.
  • West Indian drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis): mating flights run April through June, but they can happen at any time of year. These colonies live entirely inside wood. They only produce swarmers once mature, at about five years old.

For a Davie homeowner, winged termites or piles of shed wings indoors are worth a call at any time of year. These calendars describe how Florida species behave in general. They don’t measure termite activity at any particular Davie address. Only an inspection confirms which termite is present.

How Termite Service Works for Davie Homes

Our termite process is built around one question: which termite is here, and which service fits it?

  1. Schedule your free inspection.

We respond the same day you reach out. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

  2. Inspect accessible areas.

Your inspector looks for termite activity in the accessible areas of the home.

  3. Identify the termite.

Drywood, Formosan and other subterranean termites each call for different services, so identification comes before any recommendation.

  4. Review written options.

You get a written quote for the services that fit. For drywood, that means a bond, spot treatment or drywood fumigation. For Formosan, it means liquid treatment, fumigation or the baiting system. For other subterranean termites, it means the baiting system.

  5. Treatment by a technician.

A technician carries out the method you choose, following the manufacturer’s label.

  6. What happens afterward depends on your agreement.

Bonds, drywood fumigation and Formosan liquid treatment cover activity you report during the term. Spot treatment covers only the treated areas for sixty days. Baiting system stations are inspected at least once a year while coverage is active. Formosan fumigation has no warranty term and no included retreatment.

Here’s what each method involves:

  • Drywood bond: attic treatment, spot injections or radius treatment, as listed in your agreement.
  • Spot drywood treatment: a one-time treatment of specific areas, with no tent.
  • Fumigation: the whole house is tented and treated with sulfuryl fluoride gas. You leave the house for the vacate period, typically two nights and three days, and come back only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance.
  • Formosan liquid treatment: trenching along the foundation, drilling and injecting under slabs that touch the foundation, and spot or foam treatment where termites are active.
  • Baiting system: bait stations installed in the soil around the home’s perimeter, then monitored and serviced.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Davie

Termite pricing depends on the species, the method and the home, so most termite work is quoted individually. The published starting price below applies to just one service, a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Davie starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other option is quoted individually after inspection. That includes three-year bonds, spot treatment, drywood and Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment, and the baiting system. Your quote depends on:

  • The termite species the inspection finds
  • How widespread the activity is
  • The method you choose and whether you add an optional renewal
  • The size and layout of the home

Every job begins with a free inspection and a written quote. Official WDO real-estate reports are a separate paid service, quoted on request.

What On Demand Pest Control Customers Say

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

— C. Luongo

Licensed and insured in Florida

Yes. On Demand Pest Control holds Pest Control License #JB259950, issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. Florida licenses pest control companies at the state level, so no separate county license is needed for work in Davie. We carry general liability and workers’ compensation insurance.

The company has served customers since 2017. We do termite work in line with the Florida Structural Pest Control Act.

Why Davie Homeowners Choose On Demand Pest Control for Termites

Choosing a termite company comes down to fit, clarity and access. Here’s what we offer:

  • A Davie office: our East Coast office is right here in town, on SW 47th Avenue.
  • Seven species-specific options: drywood, Formosan and other subterranean termites each get a service designed for them, so you aren’t sold one method for every problem.
  • Written, method-specific coverage: each service comes with its own agreement that states the term, any renewal option and the exclusions, including that Formosan fumigation carries no warranty.
  • Free standard inspection and quick response: we respond the same day, and new customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours.

Termite Warranty Coverage: What Each Treatment Includes

Your coverage depends on the service you choose. Drywood bonds start with a one-year or three-year term, and drywood fumigation and Formosan liquid treatment each start with a one-year term. You can extend each one with optional one-year renewals. During the term, if you report activity and our no-charge inspection finds it covered, we provide additional treatment at no extra charge. For bonds and drywood fumigation, that means the additional drywood treatment we decide is needed. For Formosan liquid, it means further liquid treatment only, never fumigation. Spot drywood treatment covers only the treated areas for sixty days and does not transfer to a new owner. The baiting system includes the first year of monitoring with installation, with station inspections at least once a year and an optional yearly renewal. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.

None of our termite warranties pay for wood repair or termite damage, and each one covers only the termite group it was written for. Your written agreement sets out the full warranty terms, including transfer rules, renewal fees, and what you’re responsible for as the homeowner, such as fixing leaks we point out. Read it before you sign so you know exactly what your plan covers.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Davie?

It depends on the species, the method and the size of your home. Our published starting price applies only to a one-year drywood bond on a smaller home. Every other service is quoted after a free inspection, and you get the price in writing before any work starts.

How soon can someone come out to my Davie home?

We respond the same day you contact us. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. A same-day appointment depends on availability and preparation.

Do I have to leave my house for termite treatment?

For fumigation, yes. The typical vacate period is two nights and three days. It can run longer because of weather, foam-insulated attics or the size of the house. Nobody goes back in until the licensed fumigator has tested clearance levels and posted a written clearance notice. Formosan liquid treatment doesn't require you to leave. People and pets need to stay clear of the immediate work area while trenching, drilling and application are in progress, and off treated soil until it has been watered in or has dried. Other methods have their own prep steps, which your written agreement describes.

Is a termite inspection for a home sale free?

Our standard termite inspection is free. An official WDO real-estate report for a closing is a separate paid service, and we'll quote it when you ask.

What are the options for Formosan termites?

There are three. Formosan liquid treatment comes with a one-year renewable warranty that covers further liquid treatment only. The baiting system targets subterranean termites, including Formosan. Formosan fumigation treats the termites present on the day of treatment and has no warranty. For longer-term protection after fumigation, you can choose a separate liquid treatment or baiting agreement. That second agreement is optional and isn't required to book fumigation.
