Termite Treatment in Lake Worth Starts With Identifying the Termite

If you are searching for termite treatment in Lake Worth, the most useful first step is finding out exactly which termite is in your home. Florida has drywood termites, Formosan subterranean termites and native subterranean termites. Each one lives, feeds and spreads differently. A method that works well on one species can do nothing against another. Bait stations in the yard do nothing for drywood termites living inside your attic wood. A drywood termite bond does not cover subterranean or Formosan termites.

On Demand Pest Control offers seven termite services. Our inspector’s job is to match your home to the one that fits. Drywood termites can be handled with spot treatment, a drywood termite bond or whole-house tent fumigation. Formosan termites can be handled with a liquid soil treatment, a baiting system or a Formosan-rate tent fumigation. Native subterranean termites are handled with the baiting system. You get these as written options after the inspection. They are not a fixed package every homeowner has to buy.

That is why good termite treatment starts with an inspection before any product is chosen. Once our inspector knows the species and where the activity is in your Lake Worth home, you get a written recommendation and a quote for the service that fits. Each service comes with its own agreement, its own preparation steps and its own coverage. The rest of this page explains how those options differ, so you can compare them before you decide.

What Termite Treatment Involves for Drywood, Formosan and Native Subterranean Colonies

Termite treatment methods differ mainly because colonies live in different places. A drywood colony lives entirely inside the wood it eats. It gets its moisture from that wood and from its own metabolism, so treatment goes into the wood itself. That can mean targeted spot work, a bond made up of attic, spot or radius treatment, or whole-house tent fumigation.

Native subterranean termites depend on the soil, and we handle them with bait stations installed around the foundation. Formosan termites have more options. A liquid soil treatment or the baiting system works from the ground around your home. A Formosan-rate tent fumigation treats the structure itself. That fumigation is a one-time service with no warranty, and its terms state that longer-term Formosan protection needs a separate soil or liquid treatment. The baiting system and the liquid treatment are both soil-based options you can compare.

That is why we never recommend a baiting system for drywood termites or tent fumigation for native subterranean termites. The method has to reach the place where the colony actually lives.

When Do Termites Swarm in Lake Worth? Florida Flight Seasons by Species

Termite pressure in Lake Worth does not follow one calendar. University of Florida IFAS research shows that each species has its own dispersal-flight window. These flights, or swarms, are when winged termites leave a mature colony to start new ones. Here is how the main Florida species compare:

  • Formosan subterranean termites: In Florida these typically swarm from early April to late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. A single flight can include tens of thousands of termites. When a structure is already infested, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis): These make several mating flights from April to June, but flights can happen at any time of year. The whole colony lives inside wood and never needs contact with soil.
  • Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes): Florida has three species, and each flies at a different time. R. hageni flies from early December to early February, in the evening. R. flavipes flies from early January through April. R. virginicus flies from early February to late May. The last two usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons, often after rain.

For a Lake Worth homeowner, this means winged termites or shed wings in or around your home are worth checking out in almost any month. Swarmers come from mature colonies. For the West Indian drywood termite, UF notes that colonies do not produce winged termites until they are about five years old. The swarm calendar tells you when termites are easiest to spot. It does not tell you how common they are on your street, and only an inspection can confirm what is going on in your home.

How a Termite Inspection and Treatment Plan Works, Step by Step

Every termite job follows the same basic order: inspect, identify, recommend, then treat with a method suited to that species. Here is what that looks like for a Lake Worth home.

  1. Book your free inspection.

We respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

  2. Inspect accessible areas.

Our inspector looks for termite activity in the accessible areas of your home.

  3. Identify the termite type.

Drywood, Formosan or native subterranean. This one finding decides which services are even an option for your home.

  4. Review written options and a quote.

You receive the method or methods that fit your species, with the terms that apply to each one.

  5. Prepare and treat.

A technician carries out the service you chose. Each method has its own preparation. Tent fumigation typically means vacating for two nights and three days, and no one goes back inside until the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Liquid Formosan treatment involves trenching along the foundation and drilling under the slabs next to it. You can stay home, but people and pets need to stay clear of the work area while trenching, drilling and application are in progress, and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Baiting means installing stations in the soil around the perimeter. Bond and spot work treats the wood identified during the inspection.

  6. Follow the terms of your agreement.

Each service works differently after treatment. With baiting, we inspect the installed stations at least once a year during the initial term and any optional renewal terms you choose. The drywood bond, drywood fumigation, spot treatment and liquid Formosan warranties are reactive, with no scheduled reinspections. If you see signs of termites during your coverage term, tell us promptly and we follow the steps your agreement sets out. Spot treatment coverage lasts 60 days and applies only to the areas that were treated. Formosan tent fumigation is sold without a warranty, so it includes no retreatment, reinspection or renewal.

How Much Does Termite Treatment Cost in Lake Worth?

Termite pricing depends on which termite you have and which method fits your house, so no single rate covers every job. The starting figure below applies to one service only: a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Lake Worth starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other method is quoted individually. That includes three-year bonds, spot treatment, drywood fumigation, Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment and the baiting system. The final price depends on the size and cubic footage of your home, the termite species, how much activity there is and where it is, the method you choose, and access to attics, slabs and landscaping. Some methods also have optional renewal fees. Every job begins with a free inspection and a written quote. Official WDO real-estate reports for home sales are a separate paid service and are quoted on request.

Termite Inspections for Homes Across the Lake Worth Area

We serve the wider Lake Worth postal area, which reaches beyond the city limits of Lake Worth Beach. Two verified examples show that range:

  • College Park: a historic neighborhood inside the city of Lake Worth Beach, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
  • Lake Charleston: a master-planned residential community in the broader Lake Worth area, with more than 945 acres of neighborhoods linked by a chain of over 220 acres of lakes.

Between them, these two examples show that our coverage is not limited to one municipality. Homes inside Lake Worth Beach and homes in the surrounding Lake Worth area are both within our service area. These are examples, not a full list. If you live in the Lake Worth area and are not sure your address is included, give us your street when you book. We will confirm coverage before we schedule your free inspection.

Customer Reviews of On Demand Pest Control

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

What to Look For in a Lake Worth Termite Company

When you compare termite companies, check how many methods they offer and how clearly each one is written up. Here is what you get with us:

  • All seven termite services: Spot treatment, one-year and three-year drywood bonds, drywood fumigation, Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment and a baiting system. Your recommendation is based on the species, not on a single product.
  • Separate written agreements for each method: Each service has its own agreement covering the term, renewal, transfer rules and exclusions, so you can compare options side by side.
  • Free standard inspection: We never charge for the standard inspection and quote. Official WDO real-estate reports are available as a separate paid service when you are buying or selling.
  • Palm Beach County coverage from our East Coast branch: Our Davie office serves Palm Beach County cities, including the Lake Worth area. We respond the same day, and new customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours.

Termite Warranty Coverage: What Each Treatment Includes

No single termite warranty covers every method, because each service has its own written agreement. Drywood bonds come with a one-year or three-year initial term. Drywood tent fumigation comes with a one-year term. Both include extra drywood treatment at no charge when an inspection confirms covered activity during the term, and you can renew each year after that. The Formosan liquid treatment has a one-year renewable warranty limited to further liquid treatment. Fumigation is never part of it. The baiting system includes a first year of station monitoring and servicing, with optional yearly renewal. Spot drywood treatment covers only the specified areas for sixty days, and that coverage does not renew.

Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty and no included retreatment, though you can arrange separately paid work later if you need it. None of these agreements pays for wood repair or termite damage. Before you sign, go over the warranty terms for your chosen method with our inspector. That includes how long the term runs, how renewal works, what you are responsible for as the homeowner and which conditions are excluded, so you know what you are buying.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Lake Worth?

The price depends on the species, the method, the size of your home and how much activity there is. The starting price shown on this page applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home. Every other method is quoted individually after a free inspection, and you receive the quote in writing.

Do I have to leave my house during termite treatment?

It depends on the method. Tent fumigation typically requires vacating for two nights and three days, sometimes longer depending on weather or the size of the home, and you go back in only after clearance is posted. Liquid Formosan treatment does not require leaving the house, but people and pets must stay clear of the work area until the treatment has been watered in or has dried. Other methods have their own preparation steps, which are listed in each agreement.

Is the termite inspection free?

Yes. The standard termite inspection and written quote are free. An official WDO real-estate report or clearance letter for a home sale is a separate paid service, quoted on request.

What is the best treatment for Formosan termites?

There are three options. A liquid soil treatment comes with a one-year renewable warranty limited to further liquid treatment. The baiting system targets subterranean termites, including Formosan termites. Formosan fumigation is also available, but it is a one-time service with no warranty. Its terms note that longer-term protection needs a separate soil or liquid treatment. Our inspector will recommend what fits your home.

What happens to my termite coverage if I sell my home?

Drywood bonds, drywood fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment and baiting agreements can transfer to the buyer if we receive written notice within thirty days of the sale. Spot drywood treatment coverage cannot be transferred, and Formosan fumigation has no warranty to transfer. If your buyer's lender needs an official WDO report, we can quote that separately.
