Termite Treatment in Pinecrest Starts With Identifying the Termite

If you’re looking for termite treatment in Pinecrest, the first thing to settle is which termite is in your home. Drywood termites, native subterranean termites and Formosan termites live and feed in different ways. Each one calls for a different service, so the right plan starts with a correct identification.

Maybe you found small piles of pellets on a windowsill, discarded wings near a door, or soft wood along a baseboard. Our inspector will visit your Pinecrest home, check the accessible areas, and explain in plain language what the evidence points to. You’ll get written options you can compare at your own pace. No single method is the answer for every house.

On Demand Pest Control offers seven distinct termite services. They cover drywood bonds, localized drywood spot treatment, whole-house drywood fumigation, Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid soil treatment and a termite baiting system for subterranean species. Each service fits a specific type of termite. A good termite treatment plan matches the method to the species and to where the activity sits in the structure, whether that’s the attic framing, a door frame, or the soil along the foundation. Once your inspector explains which services fit your home, you can weigh coverage, preparation and cost together before you decide.

What Happens on Termite Treatment Day

What treatment day looks like depends on the service you chose. For a drywood bond or spot treatment, the technician applies termiticide directly to the identified wood, often in the attic or around specific frames. For fumigation, the crew seals the house under tarps, and the home stays empty until the licensed fumigator tests the air and posts written clearance.

For a Formosan liquid treatment, the technician trenches along the foundation, applies the termiticide solution, and drills and injects under abutting slabs where needed. Drill holes are patched but stay visible. Baiting system installation places stations in the soil around the home’s perimeter, which means some digging near landscaping. Your technician will explain which of these applies to your home before the work begins.

When Termites Swarm in Pinecrest and Across South Florida

Termites feed all year in Florida. Swarms are when most homeowners notice them. A swarm happens when a mature colony sends out winged reproductives, called alates, to start new colonies. The timing in Florida depends on the species:

  • Formosan subterranean termites: typically swarm in Florida from early April through late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. A single flight can contain tens of thousands of insects. In a structural infestation, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites: mating flights generally run April through June, though flights can happen at any time of year. These colonies live entirely inside wood and never need soil contact.
  • Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes): Florida has three species with different windows. R. hageni flies in the evening from early December into early February. R. flavipes flies from early January through April. R. virginicus flies from early February through late May. The last two usually fly on warm, sunny, still afternoons, often after rain.

So a Pinecrest homeowner can see swarmers in many different months, and the calendar alone won’t tell you which termite you have. Swarmers after dusk in May point toward a different termite than wings found on a sunny February afternoon. Save a few wings or bodies in a sealed bag. They help your inspector confirm the species during the free inspection.

How Termite Treatment Works for Pinecrest Homes

Every job follows the same basic path. The treatment itself depends on the termite. Here’s what to expect:

  1. Request your free inspection.

We respond the same day you reach out. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

  2. Inspection of accessible areas.

Your inspector checks the areas of your home that can be reached for signs of termite activity.

  3. Identify the termite type.

The evidence tells us whether you’re dealing with drywood, native subterranean or Formosan termites. That decision drives every step after it.

  4. Review written options.

You receive a written quote with the services that fit your termite and your home. You choose the one that works for you.

  5. Prepare for the chosen service.

Each method has its own preparation rules. Tent fumigation typically means leaving the home for two nights and three days, a preparation checklist applies, and no one may go back inside until the licensed fumigator has posted clearance. Liquid treatment does not require leaving the home, but people and pets must stay clear of the work area and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Baiting stations are installed in the soil around the perimeter.

  6. Treatment day.

Your technician performs the service described in your agreement, following the product label.

  7. Follow-up under your agreement.

With the baiting system, we inspect the installed stations at least once a year during the initial term and any optional renewal term, and service them as needed. Drywood and Formosan liquid agreements work on a report basis: tell us if you see new activity during the term, and your written agreement determines what follow-up is covered. Formosan fumigation includes no follow-up service.

How Much Does a Termite Job Cost in Pinecrest?

Termite pricing depends on the species and the service, so there isn’t one price for every home. The starting figure below applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Pinecrest starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other termite service is quoted individually after inspection. The main factors that affect your final price:

  • Termite type: drywood, native subterranean and Formosan termites call for different services.
  • Method: a localized spot treatment, a whole-house tent fumigation, a liquid soil treatment and a baiting system differ widely in scope.
  • Home size and layout: square footage, cubic volume, foundation length and attic access all matter.
  • Coverage choices: a one-year or three-year bond, plus any optional renewals you choose.

Every job starts with a free inspection and a written quote. If you need an official WDO report for a real estate transaction, that’s a separate paid service, and we’ll quote it on request.

What On Demand Pest Control Customers Say

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

Choosing a Pinecrest Termite Company: What Sets ODPC Apart

Termite work is a long-term decision for your home. Here’s what you can expect from us:

  • Free standard inspection: you learn what termite you have and what your options are before you spend anything.
  • Seven termite services to match the species: drywood, native subterranean and Formosan termites each get a compatible method, so your home isn’t pushed into one default approach.
  • Written, service-specific terms: every option comes with its own agreement, so you can see the coverage, term and renewal where they apply, and the limits, before you choose. Formosan fumigation carries no warranty.
  • State licensed and insured: Pest Control License #JB259950, with general liability and workers’ compensation coverage.

Termite Warranty Coverage: What Each Service Includes

Each termite service has its own written terms, and not every service includes warranty coverage. Here’s the short version:

  • Drywood termite bond (1-year or 3-year): if you report drywood activity during the term, we inspect at no charge and provide covered retreatment at no added charge. After the initial term you can renew one year at a time.
  • Drywood tent fumigation: a one-year initial term with the same report-and-retreat coverage, renewable each year for an annual fee.
  • Drywood spot treatment: 60 days of coverage for the specific areas treated only. It can’t be renewed or transferred.
  • Formosan liquid treatment: a one-year renewable warranty. Covered follow-up work is further liquid treatment only. Fumigation is never provided under this warranty.
  • Termite baiting system: installation includes the first year of station monitoring and servicing. Renewal after that is optional. It covers subterranean species and excludes above-ground (aerial) infestations.
  • Formosan fumigation: sold with no warranty and no included retreatment. Any later work would be a new, separately quoted job.

None of these services pays for wood repair, and each one has its own conditions and exclusions. Your written agreement is the document that governs your coverage. Read the warranty terms for your chosen service before you sign, including how renewal works, what you need to report and when, and whether coverage can transfer if you sell your Pinecrest home. That way you know what you’re buying.

Frequently asked questions

Is the termite inspection in Pinecrest free?

Yes. The standard inspection to identify termites and quote treatment is free. An official WDO report for a home sale or refinance is a separate paid service, and we'll quote it when you ask.

Do I have to leave my house for termite treatment?

It depends on the method. Tent fumigation typically requires leaving the home for two nights and three days, and no one can go back in until the licensed fumigator has posted clearance. A liquid soil treatment does not require leaving the home, but people and pets must stay clear of the work area and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Every method comes with its own preparation instructions, and your inspector will review them with you.

How soon can someone come out to my Pinecrest home?

We respond the same day you contact us. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Does a termite warranty pay for damaged wood?

No. None of our termite services covers wood repair or replacement. Coverage depends on the service. Some agreements include covered retreatment during the term, the baiting system includes station monitoring and servicing, and Formosan fumigation has no warranty at all.

Can Formosan termites be treated without tenting?

Often, yes. Formosan termites can be handled with a liquid soil treatment or a termite baiting system, and both work on this species. Formosan fumigation is also available, but it comes with no warranty. Longer-term protection requires a separate service, such as liquid treatment or baiting. Your inspector will recommend the option that fits where the activity is.
