Mosquito Control for Sanibel Homes: Stations Plus Monthly Foliage Misting

If you’re looking for mosquito control in Sanibel, you probably want to spend time in your yard without a cloud of biting insects. On Demand Pest Control offers an exterior service built to reduce mosquito populations and breeding activity on your property. We install In2Care® mosquito stations, apply a power-misting insecticide treatment to your landscape foliage, and maintain both on a monthly schedule.

Sanibel is an unusual place to manage mosquitoes. More than half of the land on Sanibel and neighboring Captiva Island is preserved in its natural state as wildlife refuges, including the J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Mosquitoes travel freely from neighboring properties, waterways, drainage features and untreated areas, so no service can seal a yard off from the island around it. Our service focuses on what can be managed: the stations, the foliage where adult mosquitoes rest, and the standing water on your own property.

Our mosquito treatment has two parts. In2Care® stations stay in place on your property, and each month a technician maintains them and power-mists your landscape foliage. Together they work to reduce mosquito populations and breeding activity outside your home. It is not an eradication program, it does not prevent disease, and it does not treat indoor areas or public spaces. Every plan starts with a free inspection of your own property, so station placement and misting coverage fit your yard.

After the inspection, you get a written quote that shows the installation and first visit separately from the ongoing monthly charge. To schedule a free inspection, call our West Coast branch at (941) 444-0062.

What Happens During a Monthly Mosquito Service Visit

At each scheduled visit, the technician checks every In2Care® station to make sure it’s in place, intact and working, then services it as needed. Next, they power-mist the landscape foliage around your property, focusing on the shaded, sheltered plants where mosquitoes tend to rest during the day.

The service covers the outside of your home only. If landscapers, pool service, pets or wildlife move, damage or knock over a station, let us know so we can deal with it. Clear access to side yards and pool decks helps the technician cover your whole property on each visit.

Rain, Standing Water and Mosquito Season on the Island

Mosquitoes breed in standing water, and South Florida’s warm, wet weather gives them plenty of chances. After a heavy rain, water collects in places most homeowners never think about: plant saucers, clogged gutters, tarps, tires, bird baths, uncovered rain barrels, and unused pools or hot tubs. Any container that holds water for more than five days can become a breeding site, which is why mosquito activity often rises after a storm.

On Sanibel, your yard is also part of a larger island landscape that includes extensive refuge land. Mosquitoes can drift in from off-site areas. Shaded, heavily planted yards and homes near canals, ponds, marshes or other water features may keep seeing some activity, especially during peak seasons. Because this activity keeps coming back, the service runs on a monthly schedule instead of a one-time treatment.

Tropical storms, flooding and long stretches of heavy rain can bring mosquito surges afterward. They can also disturb stations, so let us know if one has been moved or damaged. Once the weather passes, clearing standing water from your yard is one of the most useful things you can do between visits.

How Mosquito Treatment Works at a Sanibel Home, Step by Step

We follow the same documented method on every property and fit station placement and misting coverage to your yard.

  1. Free inspection.

Our inspector walks your exterior: yard, side yards, pool deck, landscaping and any spots that hold water. They also note conditions that encourage breeding.

  2. Written quote.

Your proposal is based on your yard size and the number of stations it needs. It lists installation and the first visit separately from the monthly charge.

  3. Station installation.

A technician sets up In2Care® mosquito stations in suitable spots around your property. The biological agents and larvicide inside are regulated pesticide products, so leave the stations undisturbed.

  4. Power-misting the foliage.

The technician applies a power-misting insecticide treatment to your landscape foliage, where adult mosquitoes rest. All products are applied according to their labels.

  5. Monthly maintenance visits.

Each month we inspect and maintain the stations and repeat the foliage misting. Weather, technician availability and access to your property can affect scheduling.

  6. Your part between visits.

You empty standing water, keep gates accessible and tell us about anything that needs special handling, like a new pet, koi pond, beehive, edible plants or water feature. We’ll point out any conditions we see that encourage breeding.

What Mosquito Control Costs on Sanibel

Mosquito service pricing is set by yard size, and your written quote shows exactly what you’ll pay before you start.

Mosquito control in Sanibel starts around $65 a month for a typical yard, after a one-time system setup from about $115.

That starting figure applies only to the smallest yard tier, 4,000 square feet or less. Larger yards are priced on the same yard-size tiers, and the number of In2Care® stations follows your tier. Very large properties are quoted individually. Your written quote confirms two amounts: a one-time charge for installing the stations plus the first visit, and a separate recurring monthly charge after that. Every job starts with a free inspection.

Areas We Serve on Sanibel

We provide residential mosquito service at addresses across Sanibel. When you request a free inspection, our inspector evaluates the property at your address.

What shapes your service plan:

  • Yard size: sets your pricing tier and how many In2Care® stations you need.
  • Landscaping: how much foliage needs misting each month.
  • Water on your property: spots that hold water and may need attention between visits.
  • Access: gates, side yards and pool decks the technician needs to reach. Gate codes, keys or unlocked gates, plus restrained pets, help each visit cover the whole property.

Our mosquito service warranty terms explain what the service does and doesn’t do. It is an exterior service that reduces mosquito populations and breeding activity. It does not eliminate mosquitoes. Coverage excludes activity caused by standing water you haven’t cleared, by denied gate or yard access, or by mosquitoes coming in from off-site areas. Your signed service agreement sets the 12-month initial term and the 30-day written cancellation notice, and that agreement controls.

What Our Mosquito Service Warranty Covers

At each scheduled monthly visit, we maintain your stations and mist your landscape foliage to help keep mosquito numbers down outside your home. If mosquito activity increases between scheduled treatments, contact us. The conditions in your written agreement apply.

The service has clear limits. It doesn’t promise zero mosquitoes, protection from bites or disease, or indoor control. Mosquitoes that come from neighboring properties or waterways aren’t covered, and there is no automatic re-spray after rain. Our mosquito service warranty terms lay out the full coverage, the exclusions and your responsibilities as a homeowner, such as providing gate access, leaving stations undisturbed and clearing standing water. Please read them before you sign.

Your signed service agreement sets a 12-month initial term, followed by month-to-month service. Either party can cancel with 30 days’ written notice. If anything on this page differs from your signed agreement, the agreement controls.

Frequently asked questions

How much does mosquito control cost on Sanibel?

Pricing depends on your yard size and how many In2Care® stations it needs. The starting figure on this page applies to yards of 4,000 square feet or less, and larger yards are priced separately. After a free inspection, you'll get a written quote that lists installation and the first visit apart from the monthly charge.

How soon can you come out to my Sanibel home?

We respond the same day you reach out. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Will this service get rid of every mosquito on my property?

No. This service reduces mosquito populations and breeding activity outside your home. Mosquitoes can still fly in from nearby land, water and untreated areas, especially after rain. If activity increases between scheduled treatments, contact us. The conditions in your agreement apply.

What should I know if I have pets, a koi pond or edible plants?

Before your first treatment, tell us in writing about any pets, fish ponds, beehives, edible plants, water features or known sensitivities. That lets our technician plan for them during the visit. Keep pets inside or restrained on service days so the technician can reach every part of the yard.

How long is the mosquito service agreement?

The agreement has a 12-month initial term. After that, service continues month to month, and either party can cancel with 30 days' written notice. The agreement isn't transferable. It ends if you sell the home or no longer own or live at the treated address.
