Termite Treatment in Boynton Beach Starts With Identifying the Species

If you need termite treatment in Boynton Beach, start by finding out which termite you have. Drywood termite colonies live inside the wood they feed on, and mature colonies produce winged alates that leave on dispersal flights. Subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, nest in the soil and travel up into a structure. Each group needs a different method, and a treatment built for one does not control the other.

On Demand Pest Control offers seven termite services, and each one starts with a free inspection at your Boynton Beach home. Our inspector checks the accessible areas of the structure, identifies the termite involved and explains the options that fit. You get a written quote before any termite treatment is scheduled. That way you know the method, the scope and any warranty terms before you commit to anything.

Boynton Beach is in Palm Beach County, and we serve it from our East Coast branch. When you contact us, we respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Drywood vs. Subterranean Termite Evidence Around the Home

The two termite groups leave different evidence, and that evidence shapes the treatment plan. Knowing what each one looks like helps you describe what you’ve found when you book:

  • Drywood droppings: Small, hard pellets that collect below wood trim, window sills or attic framing, pushed out of the galleries where the colony lives.
  • Shed wings: Piles of wings near windows, doors or light fixtures, left behind after a swarm.
  • Mud tubes: Pencil-width tunnels on foundation walls or slab edges. Subterranean termites build them to travel between the soil and wood.
  • Damaged wood: Trim or framing that sounds hollow or looks blistered. Termites of either type can cause it.

During a free inspection, the inspector explains what each finding means and which termite group it points to.

When Termites Swarm in South Florida: Timing by Species

For many homeowners, a swarm is the first sign of termites. You might see winged insects around a porch light or find small piles of shed wings on a windowsill. Swarm timing varies by species. The windows below come from regional Florida species data, and they give Boynton Beach homeowners a useful guide to what they might see:

  • Formosan subterranean termites: These typically swarm from early April to late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. A single flight can include tens of thousands of termites. If the structure is already infested, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites: Their mating flights run from April to June, although flights can happen at any time of year.
  • Native subterranean termites: Florida has three Reticulitermes species, and each flies at a different time. R. hageni flies from early December to early February, in the evening. R. flavipes flies from early January through April, and R. virginicus from early February to late May. Those two usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons, often after rain.

These windows overlap for much of the year, so a swarm in any month is worth a call. Established native subterranean colonies also feed year-round, which means a quiet month does not mean an inactive colony.

Drywood colonies have their own timeline. A West Indian drywood colony does not produce swarmers until it matures, at about five years old. The first swarm you notice may come from a colony that has been feeding for years. During the inspection, our inspector will tell you whether the evidence points to drywood or subterranean activity, and that answer decides which treatments fit.

How a Termite Inspection Turns Into a Treatment Plan

Our termite process always starts by identifying the species. The seven services in our catalog are options you choose from after that step. No home gets all of them.

  1. Free inspection.

Our inspector checks the accessible areas of your home for signs of termite activity.

  2. Species identification.

The inspector determines whether the activity is drywood, native subterranean or Formosan. That determines which methods can work.

  3. Written options and quote.

You get the methods that fit the species. For drywood termites, those are a one-year or three-year bond (attic treatment, spot injections or radius treatment), a localized spot treatment, or whole-house tent fumigation. For subterranean termites, including Formosan, a baiting system can be installed in the soil around the perimeter. For Formosan termites, the options also include a liquid soil treatment or a Formosan tent fumigation.

  4. Preparation for your method.

Each method has its own prep, which we explain before treatment. For tent fumigation, you complete a preparation checklist and leave the home, typically for two nights and three days. Re-entry is permitted only after the licensed fumigator tests clearance levels and posts a written clearance notice. For liquid treatment, you don’t need to leave, but you clear the foundation and mark buried lines. People and pets stay clear of the work area while treatment is in progress and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Installing bait stations involves digging and drilling in the soil around the home.

  5. Treatment by a technician.

Our technician applies the treatment according to the product manufacturer’s label.

  6. Warranty service where your agreement provides it.

If you see activity during an active warranty term, contact us and we schedule an inspection. For baiting systems, stations are inspected at least once a year during the initial term and any elected renewal term. Formosan fumigation is sold without a warranty, and any later work is quoted as a new service.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Boynton Beach

Termite pricing varies more than most pest services because the species, the method and the size of your home all change the job. The published starting figure applies to one service only, which is a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Boynton Beach starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

All other methods are quoted individually. That includes three-year bonds, spot treatment, drywood and Formosan tent fumigation, baiting systems and Formosan liquid treatment. The main factors are:

  • Termite species: Drywood, native subterranean and Formosan termites each need different methods.
  • Home size and layout: Cubic footage matters a lot for fumigation, and foundation length matters for liquid and baiting work.
  • How far the activity has spread: One localized area may fit a spot treatment. Widespread activity may call for a bond or a whole-house method.
  • Term and renewal: Bond terms differ, and renewals are billed as a separate annual fee.

Every job begins with a free inspection and a written quote. If you need an official WDO report for a real estate closing, that report is a separate paid service, and we quote it on request.

What Customers Say About On Demand Pest Control

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

Why Homeowners Pick ODPC for Termite Control

Termite companies differ in which methods they offer and how clearly they explain their agreements. Here is what you get with us:

  • Seven species-matched services: We offer one-year and three-year drywood bonds, spot treatment, drywood fumigation, baiting systems, Formosan liquid treatment and Formosan fumigation. You get the methods that fit the termite you have.
  • Method-specific written agreements: Each service has its own written terms, including warranty length, renewal and transfer rules. For example, bonds can transfer to a new owner with written notice within thirty days of closing, and spot treatment coverage does not transfer.
  • A free inspection with clear identification: The inspector tells you which termite you have before you see any options.
  • Prompt response: We respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Termite Warranty Coverage Depends on the Method You Choose

Most of our termite services include a limited warranty. With a drywood bond, drywood fumigation or Formosan liquid treatment, you tell us about termite activity during the term and we inspect at no charge. If the activity is covered, we re-treat at no additional charge. Formosan liquid re-treatment is liquid only. Drywood spot treatment covers only the specific areas treated, for 60 days from the treatment date. If covered activity shows up in those areas during that period, we re-treat them at no additional charge. Spot coverage cannot be renewed or transferred, and a reinspection you request may carry a service fee. A baiting system includes a first year of station monitoring and servicing, and yearly renewal is optional. Warranty terms such as term length, renewal and transfer differ by method. Formosan fumigation comes with no warranty.

None of these agreements cover termite damage or wood repair, and none promise that termites will never return. Keeping coverage active can depend on giving us access, repairing water leaks we point out and telling us in writing about structural changes. Your written agreement lists these conditions before you sign.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Boynton Beach?

It depends on the species, the method and the size of your home. The starting figure on this page applies only to a one-year drywood bond on a smaller home. Every other method is quoted after a free inspection, and you receive the quote in writing.

Do I have to leave my home during termite treatment?

It depends on the method. For tent fumigation, you leave the home, typically for two nights and three days. That can run longer because of weather, foam-insulated attics or the size of the structure, and you go back in only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Formosan liquid treatment doesn't require you to leave, but people and pets need to stay clear of the work area during treatment and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Spot treatments and baiting installations have their own prep steps, which we explain before treatment.

Which termite treatments come with a warranty?

Each service has its own warranty terms. The drywood bond has a one-year or three-year initial term, renewable yearly, and covered drywood activity is re-treated at no additional charge. Drywood fumigation has a one-year term, renewable yearly, with covered re-treatment included. Drywood spot treatment has sixty days of coverage limited to the treated areas, and it is not renewable or transferable. The termite baiting system includes a first year of station monitoring and servicing with installation, with optional yearly renewal, and it covers subterranean termites only. Formosan liquid treatment has a one-year term, renewable yearly, with further liquid treatment only. Formosan fumigation has no warranty, and any later work is quoted as a new service.

Is the termite inspection free?

Yes. The standard inspection before treatment is free for Boynton Beach homeowners. An official WDO report for a real estate transaction is a separate paid service, and we quote it on request.

Can a baiting system handle drywood termites?

No. A baiting system targets subterranean termites, including Formosan termites, and does not cover drywood termites or above-ground infestations. Drywood activity is handled with a bond, a spot treatment or tent fumigation. For Formosan termites, longer-term protection can come from either a baiting system or a liquid soil treatment.
