Termite Treatment in Coconut Creek Starts With Knowing Which Termite You Have

If you need termite treatment in Coconut Creek, start by finding out which termite is in your home. Drywood, Formosan and native subterranean termites live and feed in different ways, so each one calls for a different approach. A treatment that works on one species can miss another completely. That is why every job starts with a free inspection and a clear species identification.

Termite activity often shows up in small ways. You might see a little pile of pellets under a windowsill, loose wings on a sill, or trim that feels soft or sounds hollow. Each sign points toward different species. Pellets usually mean drywood termites living inside the wood. Wings near windows and lights can come from a swarm of any species. Our inspector works out what the evidence means before anyone talks about treatment.

On Demand Pest Control offers seven termite services, and each one is built for a specific species. For drywood termites, the options are a drywood termite bond, spot treatment or whole-structure tent fumigation. For subterranean termites, including Formosan, we offer a baiting system. For Formosan termites specifically, we also offer liquid soil treatment and Formosan fumigation. We recommend from these options after we identify the species. No home gets all of them.

These termite treatment options differ in more than how they’re applied. Coverage length, what happens if termites come back, how you prepare the house and whether you need to leave all depend on the service. We explain each option in plain terms and put it in writing, so you can compare them before you decide. The goal is a plan that fits the termites actually in your Coconut Creek home.

What Drywood, Formosan and Subterranean Termite Work Involves

Each termite service involves different work on the property. Drywood bond work may include attic treatment, spot injections into affected wood, or radius treatment around active areas. Tent fumigation seals the whole structure under tarps while the fumigant works. Formosan liquid treatment means trenching along the foundation, drilling and injecting under slabs that touch the house, and spot or foam treatment where termites are active. The drill holes are patched but stay visible. Installing a baiting system means digging and drilling around the perimeter, which disturbs some sod or hardscape. Your written quote will say which of these apply to your home.

Florida Termite Swarm Timing by Species: Formosan, Drywood and Subterranean

Swarms are when many homeowners first notice termites. A swarm is a mating flight of winged termites (alates) leaving a mature colony to start new ones. In Florida, the season and time of day of these flights vary by species, so when a swarm happens can suggest which termites you saw. It cannot confirm the species.

  • Formosan subterranean termites: In Florida, they typically swarm from early April through late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. A single flight can include tens of thousands of termites. When a structure is already infested, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites: Mature colonies send out several flights from April to June, and flights can happen at any time of year. After the flight, the termites shed their wings and pairs look for cracks, holes or knots in wood to start a new colony.
  • Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes): Florida’s three native species each have their own window. R. hageni flies from early December to early February, in the evening. R. flavipes flies from early January through April. R. virginicus flies from early February to late May. The last two usually fly on warm, sunny, still early afternoons, often after rain.

Taken together, these species’ flight windows cover much of the calendar. Discarded wings on a windowsill in January may suggest different termites than a cloud around a porch light on a May evening. These windows overlap, and some flights happen outside them, so timing alone never settles the species. An inspection does. Swarms are also only part of the story. Established native subterranean colonies in Florida feed on wood all year, between flights. A swarm tells you a colony is mature, and an inspection tells you what to do about it.

How a Termite Inspection Leads to the Right Treatment Plan

Here is how a free inspection becomes a written treatment plan.

  1. Free inspection.

Our inspector checks accessible areas of the home for pellets, wings, damaged wood and other signs of termite activity.

  2. Species identification.

The evidence tells us whether you’re dealing with drywood, Formosan or native subterranean termites. This decides which services can work at all. For example, baiting is only for subterranean termites and is never used on drywood termites.

  3. Written options.

You get a written quote covering the compatible services, with their coverage and preparation requirements. You might see a drywood bond compared with spot treatment or fumigation. You might see Formosan liquid treatment compared with the baiting system.

  4. Preparation.

Every method has its own prep rules. Fumigation requires you to leave the home, typically for two nights and three days, and you can’t go back in until the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Liquid soil treatment doesn’t require you to leave, but the foundation must be clear and buried lines must be marked. Baiting requires access to the soil around the house.

  5. Treatment by a technician.

A technician applies the chosen service according to the product label and the scope listed on your agreement.

  6. Baiting station inspections.

For the baiting system, we inspect the installed stations at least once a year during the initial term and during any renewal term you choose.

  7. Warranty service, where included.

If your service has a warranty, contact us when you see signs of activity. We follow the terms of that specific agreement.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Coconut Creek

Termite pricing depends on the species, the method and the size of the home, so no single price covers all termite work. The published starting figure applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Coconut Creek starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

We quote every other termite service separately after the inspection. That includes three-year bonds, spot treatment, drywood and Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment and baiting. Your price depends on the size and layout of the home, how much activity we find and where, which method fits the species, and whether you choose optional renewals. Official WDO real-estate reports for home sales are a separate paid service with their own quote. The standard inspection is free, and you get a written quote before any work begins.

What Customers Say About On Demand Pest Control

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

Termite Warranty Coverage Differs by Treatment Method

No single warranty covers every termite service. Each method has its own terms. Drywood bonds (one-year or three-year initial term), drywood fumigation (one-year initial term) and Formosan liquid treatment (one-year initial term) include re-treatment at no extra charge during the term for covered activity. After the initial term, you can choose to renew each one yearly. The Formosan liquid warranty covers further liquid treatment only, never fumigation. Drywood spot treatment covers only the treated areas for 60 days. That coverage can’t be renewed and doesn’t transfer to a new owner. The baiting system includes the first year of station monitoring and servicing with installation, and yearly renewal is optional. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty and includes no retreatment. Any later work is quoted as a new job.

Each warranty covers only the species named in its own terms. Drywood bond, drywood fumigation and drywood spot warranties cover drywood termites only. The Formosan liquid warranty covers Formosan termites only. The baiting warranty covers only the subterranean termites named in its agreement. It does not cover drywood termites or above-ground (aerial) infestations.

None of these services pays for or covers wood repairs. That includes termite damage from the past, damage present at the time of service and damage that happens in the future. The written warranty terms for your service also spell out your responsibilities, such as fixing water leaks, telling us about renovations or structural changes, and leaving bait stations in place. Your inspector will go over the exact terms for the option you’re considering before you sign.

How soon can an inspector come to my Coconut Creek home?

We respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

Do I have to leave my house for termite treatment?

It depends on the method. For drywood or Formosan fumigation, you leave the home, typically for two nights and three days, and return only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. No. Drywood bonds, drywood fumigation and Formosan liquid treatment include renewable coverage. Spot treatment covers the treated areas for 60 days.
