Termite Treatment in Estero Starts With Knowing Which Termite You Have

Termite treatment in Estero starts with finding out which termite you have. Drywood, native subterranean and Formosan termites live and feed in different ways, so each one needs a different method. On Demand Pest Control serves Estero from our West Coast branch in Naples. Your first step is a free inspection. One of our inspectors checks the accessible areas of your home and tells you what they find.

The species matters for your home. According to UF/IFAS, a drywood termite colony lives entirely inside the wood it feeds on and never needs contact with soil. A treatment that suits one kind of termite can miss another entirely. So we match the method to the termite in your Estero home. We don’t use one standard package for every house.

We offer seven termite treatment services: a one-year or three-year drywood termite bond, drywood spot treatment, drywood tent fumigation, Formosan tent fumigation, liquid Formosan treatment and a termite baiting system for subterranean colonies. None of these is a mandatory step. After your inspection, your inspector explains which options fit the termite found in your home and lists the choices in a written quote.

If you find winged termites or damaged wood, timing matters. We respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

What to Expect on Termite Treatment Day

Each termite service looks different at your home. For tent fumigation, a crew seals and covers the whole structure. You stay away until clearance is posted, typically for two nights and three days, and longer in cooler or windy weather. Liquid Formosan treatment involves trenching along the foundation and drilling beneath slabs next to the home. The drill holes are patched but stay visible. Installing a baiting system means digging stations into the soil around your perimeter, which can disturb sod and landscaping. Bond and spot work is more targeted, usually in the attic and in the specific wood being treated.

Florida Termite Swarm Seasons: What Estero Homeowners Should Know

Florida termites don’t share one swarm season. UF/IFAS research describes statewide flight patterns that differ by species. These are general Florida patterns. They are not a local forecast for Estero, and the timing of a swarm alone does not identify the termite in your home.

  • Formosan termites: In Florida, these typically swarm from early April through late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. A single flight can hold tens of thousands of winged termites. When a structure is infested, swarms can happen indoors.
  • **West Indian drywood termites (Cryptotermes brevis):** Mating flights run from April to June, though flights can happen at any time of year. Colonies don’t produce winged termites until they mature at about five years old.
  • **Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes):** Florida’s three species fly at different times. R. hageni flies in the evening from early December to early February. R. flavipes flies from early January through April, and R. virginicus from early February to late May. Those last two usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons, often after rain.

Across Florida, these UF/IFAS flight windows run from winter into early summer, depending on the species. Swarmers shed their wings after they fly. If you see winged termites or find discarded wings, mention them when you book your free inspection, and your inspector will identify the termite.

How Our Termite Inspection and Treatment Process Works

Termite work in Estero follows a simple order. We inspect, identify the termite, put your options in writing, you choose a method, you prepare for it, and then we treat.

  1. Free inspection.

Your inspector checks the accessible areas of your home, inside and out, for signs of termite activity such as damaged wood and discarded wings.

  2. Species identification.

The inspector determines whether the activity points to drywood, native subterranean or Formosan termites. That decides which services apply.

  3. Written options and quote.

You get the compatible choices in writing, with a price for each. An official WDO real-estate report is a separate paid service, quoted on request.

  4. Choose your method.

Drywood termites are handled with spot treatment, a bond (attic treatment, spot injections or radius treatment) or whole-house tent fumigation. Subterranean termites, including Formosan, can be handled with a baiting system. Formosan termites can also be treated with liquid treatment or Formosan fumigation.

  5. Preparation for your method.

Fumigation requires you to complete the fumigation preparation checklist and leave the home until the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Liquid treatment has its own prep: you clear stored items away from the foundation and mark buried lines. During the work, people and pets stay clear of the work area and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried.

  6. Treatment.

We apply the treatment in accordance with the product manufacturer’s label.

  7. After treatment.

The baiting system works under its own agreement: during the initial term and any renewal term you elect, we inspect the installed stations at least once a year. For bonds, drywood fumigation, spot treatment and liquid Formosan treatment, warranty service is reactive: tell us promptly if you see termite activity, and we respond under the terms of your agreement, including re-treatment where the activity is covered. Each agreement sets its own rules for inspection visits, including whether a visit carries a fee. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.

Before you sign, read the warranty terms for the method you choose. They differ in length, renewal options, transfer rules and what happens if termites return. Several agreements also list conditions, such as written notice of structural changes to your home. If a term is unclear, ask your inspector before you sign.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Estero

Termite pricing depends on the species, the method and your home. The starting figure below applies only to the one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home. It is not a starting price for any other termite service.

Termite protection in Estero starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other termite service is quoted individually. That includes the three-year bond, spot treatment, drywood and Formosan fumigation, liquid Formosan treatment and the baiting system. These factors shape your price:

  • Termite species: which termite the inspection finds
  • Spread of activity: how far the activity extends in your home
  • Treatment method: the service you choose from the compatible options
  • Home size and layout: the actual size and configuration of your home
  • Access: how easily the areas that need treatment can be reached

Every job begins with a free inspection and a written quote, so you know the cost before any work is scheduled.

What On Demand Pest Control Customers Say

★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

— L. Shortt
★★★★★

“My neighbors used them and they came highly recommended. I called, they scheduled right away to come out, scheduled the tenting for termites right away, and scheduled the walk through appointment. Matthew Klein Senior inspector came out and is my rep now. He is very thorough, honest, and upfront. They do not add additional services just because, they listen to your needs, no games.”

Termite Warranty Coverage: What Each Treatment Includes

Coverage depends on the service you choose. Your written agreement sets out the warranty terms for that method. Here are the key differences:

  • Drywood termite bond: A one-year or three-year initial term. During the term, we provide any additional drywood treatments we find necessary at no extra charge. You can extend it one year at a time with an optional renewal.
  • Drywood fumigation: A one-year initial term with optional yearly renewal. Covered drywood activity is re-treated at no extra charge.
  • Drywood spot treatment: 60 days of coverage, limited to the exact areas treated. It can’t be renewed or transferred.
  • Liquid Formosan treatment: A one-year renewable term. Covered Formosan activity gets further liquid treatment only, never fumigation.
  • Termite baiting system: Installation includes the first year of station monitoring and servicing, with optional yearly renewal. It covers subterranean termites only.
  • Formosan fumigation: Sold with no warranty of any kind.

None of these agreements pays for wood repair. Each one has conditions, such as telling us promptly about termite activity and fixing moisture problems we point out.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Estero?

The starting price shown on this page applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home. Every other termite service is quoted individually after a free inspection, based on the species, the method and your home's size and layout.

Do I need to leave my home for termite treatment?

For tent fumigation, yes. You leave the home, typically for two nights and three days, and go back in only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Liquid Formosan treatment doesn't require you to leave, but people and pets must stay clear of the work area and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Other methods have their own preparation steps, which your inspector will explain.

Is the termite inspection in Estero free?

Yes. The standard termite inspection is free and covers the accessible areas of your home. An official WDO real-estate report for a home sale or refinance is a separate paid service, quoted on request.

Does a termite warranty pay for damage repairs?

No. None of our termite agreements covers wood repair or replacement. Where a service includes coverage, the remedy is re-treatment, further liquid treatment for liquid Formosan treatment, or monitoring and servicing of the bait stations for the baiting system. Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty.

How soon can you come out to my Estero home?

We respond the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours, and same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.
