Frequently asked questions
Is a termite inspection in Fort Myers Beach free?
Yes. The standard inspection we use to recommend treatment is free and comes with a written quote. An official wood-destroying organism (WDO) report for a home sale or closing is a separate, paid service. We quote it before scheduling.
Do I have to leave my home during termite treatment?
It depends on the method. For drywood or Formosan fumigation, you're out of the home for a typical two nights and three days. It can take longer because of weather, foam-insulated attics or the size of the structure. You go back in only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. Formosan liquid treatment doesn't require you to leave. People and pets do need to stay clear of the work area, and off treated soil until it's watered in or dry. Other methods come with their own prep instructions.
Does Formosan termite fumigation come with a warranty?
No. Formosan fumigation is a one-time service with no warranty, no renewal and no included retreatment. For ongoing Formosan coverage, ask about two separate agreements. The Formosan liquid treatment has a one-year renewable warranty for further liquid treatment. The subterranean baiting system includes station monitoring and servicing.
How soon can someone come out to my Fort Myers Beach home?
ODPC responds the same day you contact us. New customer appointments are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.
Will a termite warranty pay to repair termite damage?
No. None of our termite contracts covers wood repair or replacement, and they exclude damage from hurricanes, tropical storms and floods. What each warranty does provide depends on the method. For example, a bond includes extra drywood treatment during its term, and the baiting system includes monitoring and servicing of installed stations.
