Termite Treatment in Hollywood: Matching the Method to the Species

Termite treatment in Hollywood starts with one question: which termite is in the house? Drywood termite colonies live entirely inside the wood they feed on. Mature colonies also produce winged alates, which leave on dispersal flights to start new colonies. Subterranean termites, including the Formosan termite, are a separate group, and they call for different methods. That difference decides which termite treatment will work. So every Hollywood job with On Demand Pest Control starts with a free inspection and a written quote.

We offer seven separate termite services. There are one-year and three-year drywood termite bonds, spot treatment for localized drywood activity, and whole-house tent fumigation for drywood termites. For Formosan termites, we offer a stronger-dose fumigation and a liquid soil treatment. For subterranean colonies, we offer a baiting system. None of these is a default package. Each one becomes an option only after the termite type is identified, and each comes with its own written terms.

Our East Coast branch in Davie handles Hollywood homes. The work is done under our Pest Control License #JB259950.

When you contact us, ODPC responds the same day. New customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours. Same-day appointments depend on availability and preparation.

What Drywood, Subterranean and Formosan Termite Work Involves

Each method has its own prep. For fumigation, you complete a preparation checklist, give us key access, and stay out of the house until the licensed fumigator posts clearance. For liquid treatment, you move stored items and plants away from the foundation and mark any private buried lines, like irrigation. We patch drill holes in concrete, but they stay visible. Putting in bait stations means digging in the soil around the perimeter, which can disturb sod and landscaping. Your inspector walks you through these steps before you choose a method, so there are no surprises on treatment day.

When Termites Swarm Across Florida

A swarm is a flight of winged reproductives, called alates, leaving a mature colony to start new ones. University of Florida (UF/IFAS) research describes swarm timing for Florida as a whole. It does not describe Hollywood specifically. Timing depends on the species, so no single “termite season” fits every termite:

  • Formosan subterranean termites: In Florida they typically swarm between early April and late June, shortly after sunset, with peak activity in May. One flight can hold tens of thousands of insects. If a building is infested, the swarm can happen indoors.
  • West Indian drywood termites: This species makes mating flights from April to June, but flights are possible at any time of year. A colony produces alates only once it matures, at about five years old.
  • Native subterranean termites (Reticulitermes): Florida’s three native species each fly in their own window. R. hageni flies in the evening from early December to early February. R. flavipes flies from early January through April. R. virginicus flies from early February to late May. These last two usually fly on warm, sunny, windless early afternoons after rain.

Across Florida, these swarm windows run from winter into early summer. Because the calendars overlap, the time of year alone won’t tell you which termite you have. That’s why identification comes before any treatment choice. Established native subterranean colonies in Florida also feed on wood year-round, even outside swarm season.

How a Hollywood Termite Inspection Leads to a Written Plan

Our termite process follows the same order at every Hollywood home: we identify the termite first and choose the method second.

  1. Free inspection.

Our inspector checks the accessible areas of your home and records what they find. Tell them about anything you’ve already noticed, such as winged insects or where you saw them.

  2. Identify the termite type.

The inspection tells us whether we’re dealing with drywood termites, native subterranean termites or Formosan termites. That decides which services can work. We never use baiting for drywood termites, and tenting is not the fix for native subterranean colonies.

  3. Review written options and a quote.

You get the options that fit your termite, what each one involves, and the coverage terms that come with it. You make the choice.

  4. Preparation.

Before treatment, you complete the preparation your service requires:

  • Fumigation: finish the Fumigation Preparation Checklist and leave the home for the vacate period, which is typically two nights and three days. No one goes back inside until the licensed fumigator has tested the air and posted a clearance notice.
  • Liquid treatment: clear stored items, potted plants and debris from the foundation, and mark any buried lines, such as irrigation. You don’t have to leave the home. People and pets stay clear of the work area, and off treated soil until the treatment has been watered in or has dried.
  1. Treatment by a technician.

A technician carries out the service you picked, following the product label:

  • Drywood bond: attic treatment, spot injections or radius treatment, as listed in your agreement.
  • Fumigation: the whole house is tented and treated with sulfuryl fluoride. Formosan fumigation uses four times the standard drywood dose.
  • Liquid treatment: trenching along the foundation, drilling and injecting under slabs that touch the house, and spot or foam treatment where termites are known to be active.
  • Baiting: stations go into the soil around the home’s perimeter.
  1. Follow-up under your agreement.

Baiting includes a station inspection at least once a year during the active term. Bonds, drywood fumigation, liquid treatment and spot treatment work on a reactive basis. When you report activity during the warranty term, we schedule an inspection and re-treat if the activity is covered. Formosan fumigation comes with no obligation to retreat or reinspect.

What Termite Treatment Costs in Hollywood Homes

Termite pricing depends on the species and the job, so one number can’t cover every home. The starting figure below applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Termite protection in Hollywood starts around $975 for a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home.

Every other termite service gets its own quote. That includes three-year bonds, spot treatment, drywood or Formosan fumigation, Formosan liquid treatment and baiting. Your quote depends on:

  • The treatment method that fits your termite.
  • The size of the home.
  • Access to the areas that need treatment.
  • How far the activity has spread.
  • The coverage term, including any optional renewal.

Every job starts with a free inspection and a written quote. Official WDO real-estate reports are a separate paid service, quoted on request.

What On Demand Pest Control Customers Say

★★★★★

“Recently, OnDemand tented our building in Hollywood Florida for termites and did an excellent job. On the day of the tenting, everything was prepared on time and the crew arrived as scheduled. While there were some challenges due to the scale of the project, the team—especially the owners—were highly responsive and took immediate action to address any issues.”

— D. Agolli
★★★★★

“Aiden was excellent! On his own initiative, he checked the wooden table and mirror by the front door where the dead termites had been found. He also checked another piece of wooden furniture that was nearby. He also found a new hole that the termites had made and was very thorough in treating the whole area. We are very pleased with his service and would highly recommend him to our friends.”

— A. Jones
★★★★★

“On Friday morning I saw what appeared to be droppings from drywood termites in my cabinet. I sent an online inquiry about a termite inspection. I received a call within 10 minutes, and by 130 that afternoon Bill came by to do a free inspection. Bill was knowledgeable, thorough, honest, and polite. He didn’t try to sell me something I didn’t need and provided a synopsis of possible treatments.”

Choosing a Hollywood Termite Company: What to Compare

Termite quotes can look alike at first glance. Here’s what to compare:

  • Options matched to the species: With seven separate termite services, the method fits the termite. You won’t get a baiting quote for drywood termites or a tent quote for native subterranean colonies.
  • Written terms for each method: Before you sign, you see how long coverage lasts, your renewal options and what’s excluded for your specific service.
  • Clear inspection costs: The standard inspection is free. A WDO real-estate report is a separate paid service, and we tell you that up front.
  • A licensed Broward branch: Hollywood homes are served from our Davie branch under a state license. We respond the same day, and new customers are typically scheduled within 24 hours.

Termite Warranty Terms by Treatment Type

There is no single termite warranty. Each service is sold under its own written agreement with its own warranty terms, and some services carry no warranty at all. Terms differ in how long coverage lasts, whether you can renew it, whether it transfers when you sell, and what follow-up treatment is included. Here is the short version for Hollywood homeowners:

  • Drywood bonds and drywood fumigation: during the term, any additional drywood termite treatment that On Demand Pest Control decides is necessary for covered activity comes at no extra charge. The initial term is one year for fumigation and the one-year bond, and three years for the longer bond. After that, you can choose to renew yearly.
  • Formosan liquid treatment: one year of coverage that you can renew. During the term, any further Formosan treatment that On Demand Pest Control decides is necessary for covered activity is liquid treatment only. Fumigation is never provided under this agreement.
  • Baiting: installation includes the first year of station monitoring and servicing. Renewal is optional.
  • Drywood spot treatment: covers only the specific areas we treat, for 60 days. It can’t be renewed and it doesn’t transfer to a new owner.

Formosan fumigation is sold with no warranty and no included retreatment, so any later work is quoted as a separate job. Coverage applies only to the activity your agreement covers. Activity outside that scope is quoted separately. None of these agreements pays to repair termite damage. For bonds, drywood fumigation, liquid treatment and spot treatment, warranty service starts when you report termite activity to us during the term.

Frequently asked questions

How much does termite treatment cost in Hollywood?

It depends on the termite species, the method and the size of your home. The starting price on this page applies only to a one-year drywood bond on a smaller home. Every other service is quoted after a free inspection, and you get a written quote before any work begins.

Do I have to leave my house for termite treatment?

For fumigation, yes. You'll typically be out for two nights and three days. It can run longer because of weather, a foam-insulated attic or a larger home. You go back in only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. You don't have to leave for liquid treatment, but people and pets stay clear of the work area until the treatment dries or is watered in. Other methods have their own prep steps, and your inspector explains them.

Does Formosan termite fumigation come with a warranty?

No. Formosan fumigation is a single treatment sold with no warranty and no included retreatment. For longer-term Formosan coverage, the liquid treatment comes with a one-year renewable warranty. That warranty covers further liquid treatment only, never fumigation. The baiting system is another option, since it targets subterranean colonies, Formosan termites included.

Is a termite inspection free in Hollywood?

Yes, the standard inspection we do to recommend treatment is free. An official WDO report for a real-estate sale is a separate paid service. In Florida, that report is done on form FDACS-13645, and we quote it on request.

Does my termite warranty transfer if I sell my Hollywood home?

It depends on the service. Drywood bonds, drywood fumigation and Formosan liquid treatment transfer to the new owner for the rest of the current term, as long as we get written notice within 30 days of closing. Baiting coverage also transfers with written notice within 30 days. Drywood spot treatment coverage does not transfer, and Formosan fumigation has no warranty to transfer.
