Frequently asked questions
How much does termite treatment cost in Lauderdale By The Sea?
The cost depends on the termite species, the size of your home, and the method. The starting figure on this page applies only to a one-year drywood termite bond on a smaller home. Every other service is quoted individually after a free inspection.
Do I have to leave my home during termite treatment?
For fumigation, yes. You'll usually be out for two nights and three days, and you can go back only after the licensed fumigator posts clearance. A Formosan liquid treatment doesn't require you to leave. People and pets must stay clear of the work area while the work is in progress, and off treated soil until the application has been watered in or has dried. Spot treatment, bond work, and baiting each have their own access and preparation needs, and your quote explains them.
Does a termite warranty pay to repair damaged wood?
No. None of our termite warranties covers wood repair or termite damage. Coverage is limited to re-treatment or, for baiting, station monitoring and servicing. Read a service's warranty terms carefully before you choose it. Terms differ by method: a drywood bond, a Formosan liquid treatment, and a baiting system each have their own length, renewal option, and transfer rules. Spot treatment coverage lasts sixty days and can't be transferred. Formosan fumigation comes with no warranty at all.
Is a termite report for a real estate closing free?
No. Our standard inspection is free, but an official wood-destroying organism report for a real estate closing is a paid service. In Florida, that report uses form FDACS-13645. Contact us for a quote.
Will tent fumigation solve a Formosan termite problem for good?
Formosan fumigation is designed to eliminate the Formosan termites in the structure on the day of treatment. It comes with no warranty and no included retreatment. If termites come back later, any new treatment is quoted separately. For ongoing coverage, a Formosan liquid treatment or a termite baiting system are separate options with their own written terms.
